What color wall paint goes well with light oak wood?

I have a light oak wood bed, and two dressers. I also have a white vanity. I wanna know what color paint looks well with the wood. I know I have to accent white because of my vanity so i was thinking of a white comforter, but what about the walls? i dont want anything bright though..I'm more of a dark color person. any ideas?

I love all the dark, jewel tone colors too and I think any of them would work in your situation. Just choose whatever color YOU like the best. Go to anyplace that sells paint and get some of the sample swatches and think about it for awhile before you make your decision:) You might also think about wallpaper to bring in all the colors that you want to. Either on one wall, or just the bottom half of the walls~or wallpaper border. Personally, I'd stray away from the white comforter idea~too much risk of it getting dirty fast, or stained. Maybe go with something that has white in it, but not solid. If you are worried about having to pick up the white JUST because of the vanity, you could always paint it or refinish and stain it to match your other furniture:) Have fun with it, and Good Luck!!
Depending on the tone of the Oak you could go with Dark/Blood Red walls with white ceiling that should match the white vanity. Dark Brown would go well but its a more serious color, and dark gray too but its too colorless. In any case I would put an accent on the white ceiling combination. Some shade of green may work out too.

Best advice would be to ask some professional painting store or workers, I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving you an advice. In worst case if you think they might not be helpful act as if you are inquiring before hiring them, and go with the "I'll think about it" after you have gotten enough info or a satisfying answer.
Any color goes with light wood. Stay away from a color very close to the color of the wood so the wood stands out. Dark wood is more limiting, IMHO.
i have an office with similar colors, oak desk and white bookcase. i painted the walls a nearly red wine color, and it looks awesome!
I would go for chocolate brown color.
A light/pastel green or blue!
