Feb. 18, 2009 -- Evenflo Co. Inc. of Miamisburg, Ohio, is recalling about 256,000 of its Evenflo ExerSaucer Triple Fun stationary activity centers in the U.S. and Canada because of a risk of injury.

Evenflo is recalling the Triple Fun model number 6231711 (sold in the U.S.) with UPC number 032884142675 and model number 6231711C (sold in Canada) with the UPC number 032884146468. The recalled products were made between October 2006 and December 2008 and sold at retailers, including Toys 'R' Us and Burlington Baby Depot.

When used as an activity table, a cap on one end of the recalled ExerSaucer Triple Fun activity center can loosen and fall off, posing a fall hazard to a young child leaning or pulling up on the end cap.

Evenflo has received 11 reports of dislodged end caps on the ExerSaucer Triple Fun activity centers that resulted in nine minor injuries, including scratches and bruises. Evenflo has also received one report, from Canada, of a broken collarbone in a child who fell as the result of the end cap detaching from the product.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product as an activity table (which Evenflo calls the product's "stage 3" position) and contact Evenflo to receive a free replacement end cap. The product may still be used in its stage 1 and stage 2 positions without changes.

Contact Evenflo by phone at 800-233-5921 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Friday or visit Evenflo's web site.
